Dining With Duncan It is a time of rebirth, a time of resurrection, a time of joy for many. Perhaps Easter weekend leaves you religiously euphoric. Perhaps the spring weather infuses you with happiness. Or maybe you are just at peace with yourself. For whatever reason you receive it, I wish you happiness. But as things grow and are born, things must also pass away. So must it be with this column. It has been a difficult decision, but the task of two columns, the difficulty of finding new recipes on a weekly basis, and the end of semester stress helped in the deciding. I still hope that Collinesians eat tasteful, healthful meals, but I will no longer be at the forefront of the better eating movement. I will still try new things, invent new dishes, but I will not continue to publish. I will continue with my other column, and I hope it can be better for the extra time I will have to devote to it. It lies with you, the residents of Collins, to keep creativity alive in the dining hall. Remember the spices, dressings, the olive oil… especially the olive oil. Here is a parting recipe, short but very sweet: Coffee Milk ShakeOne glass of ice cream Pour two parts of milk into the glass. Add one part coffee. Vary amounts as per your taste. You can vary both the taste and density of the milk shake. Passion! Love! Art! Food! |
