"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…"

Who could forget these classic lines from some of the most famous works of literature? They possess an undeniable ring of clarity and richness, as well as a stirring emotional quality. The same should be true of a good food item. After eating something that is worth eating, one should remember the experience, savour it, and prepare for a four question essay exam on it. It should matter to one that much! I present for you such a treat. It will fulfill all your "Great Expectations." It will sweeten your sour "Grapes of Wrath." In short, it is a masterpiece:

Café à la Mode

Ingredients:

One glass of ice cream
Coffee (regular or decaf)

Fill a regular drinking glass about three quarters to eight and one half tenths full with soft serve ice cream. Then pour coffee in the glass until it barely covers the ice cream. Watch the fascinating atomic physics that takes place right before your eyes. Lightly stir and enjoy.

Variations: Add chocolate syrup for a Mocha Café à la Mode.

You see, it's that simple! Like I've always said, better living does not have to be difficult. It may not come easily at first, but it leads to a better quality of life. Making a simple but elegant dessert like this can markedly improve your day… no, your LIFE! Don't just do it. Do it well!
